Thank you, Carter’s Corner, for providing that safe place for men to grow. I went into this class thinking the structure would be your typical training class, but that notion was quickly diminished. The facilitators from day one used the course materials to educate, empower and build a bond between men some of which had never met before this class. There have been many lessons learned, and relationships created that will continue to grow well beyond this class. For me personally this class has helped me become more expressive when addressing life’s issues with my family and also while engaging in larger group settings. In the past I would shut down or keep my comments to myself, but as I became a more active participant in this class the benefits have been demonstrated in both my personal (family) and professional life. My wife recently shared that she has noticed that I have become more understanding as it relates to the stress of raising a teenage daughter. My daughter shared that she noticed I am more “bubbly”, if nothing else the fact that my family and I have noticed a change for the better in me. 24/7 Dads impacted my life in a positive way! When I first had my son and I was looking for a community of people help me and guide me through a new journey in life and have the opportunity and ability to network with others dads that have been through it. The program has also helped me with handling difficult situations that may have come up within the family environment. Now that my son is getting bigger I can see how the skills I have learned is starting to help in developing a great father and son relationship and guiding him in the right direction for successful future.
