It’s all about caring for our planet …   Our mission is to keep as much as possible out of our landfills by accepting good-quality household items that are clean, safe, hygienic, and readily saleable; donatable; or other items we have the facility to recycle. While it is well-known that donated items are then displayed inside the shop for others to purchase, it may be less well-known that many of the items are also donated to different volunteer groups or charities to help with their sustainable mahi. Trash Palace has also become a location where education can take place-where young people can see sustainability in action and learn about what happens behind the scenes. If it’s something we can sell/donate, then passing it on to Trash Palace will ensure it “goes around one more time,” preventing the purchase of a similar product new from somewhere else (and thus saving all the resources involved in creating, shipping, and marketing that new item). If it’s something we can recycle, then passing it on to Trash Palace helps reduce global production of the raw materials recovered.
